How does money influence politics, society and current events worldwide? What can films teach us about how everyday citizens view and understand important historical events? How bold and inquisitive should we be when facing the unknown? Students will have the opportunity to answer these questions and more this fall through new courses developed by the third cohort of Honors Faculty Fellows at West Virginia University.

Samantha Godbey’s interest in the West Virginia University Debate Team sparked before she became a student when she spotted her coworker in a debate team t-shirt at a camp she worked at the summer before her freshman year.

The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University is pleased to announce the induction of its 2018 class of scholars into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honor society for the arts and sciences. 

More than 1,000 students from the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences will walk across the stage on Sunday, May 13 as they graduate from West Virginia University , ready to take on the world.  

A record number of West Virginia University students have been named Fulbright Scholars this year, doubling the previous record of five.

Four West Virginia University students have been awarded the prestigious Boren Scholarship and will spend a year immersed in the language and culture of countries that have been identified as critical to U.S. interests.

This summer, two  West Virginia University students will study abroad as recipients of the highly competitive U.S. Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship.
