Eberly College of Arts and Sciences Recording Studio
Online asynchronous students crave video content to interact with their instructors.
To facilitate the creation of quality video content for Eberly’s online courses, we have built the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences Recording Studio. Any Eberly faculty member can reserve time to use the Eberly Recording Studio by completing the form below.
We designed the Eberly Recording Studio for many purposes. Many faculty will record lecture and “how-to” videos for courses. In addition, the room can potentially be used for podcasts or face-to-face interviews. On-campus students in Eberly College courses can reserve the studio to create presentations for their courses.
The Eberly College Recording Studio is in Woodburn Hall 202J across from the Dean’s Office.
Equipment in the studio
The Eberly Recording Studio was built with a mix of high-quality, easy-to-use equipment to make your video experience more fulfilling. The studio includes:
-
A high-resolution DSLR camera for your video
-
Multiple high-end microphones
-
A three-point lighting system
-
Sound reduction panels to reduce echo and background noise
-
A teleprompter for scripted presentations
-
Camtasia software to capture a computer screen while you record for PowerPoint or software demonstration
-
Eglass lightboard allows you to write on a digital whiteboard facing the camera and students.
-
Green screen and different backgrounds for specialty video effects.
Support
Many faculty and students may not have training in the equipment and software in the Eberly College Recording Studio. To support studio users, the instructional design team under the Director for Online Learning will help guide you in creating videos with self-service tutorials and hands-out training. When you book the studio, we’ll send you some information and our ID team will assist you when it’s time to record.
