WVU alumna earns Fulbright scholarship

An Eberly College alumna with a passion for storytelling and exploring cultural similarities between Appalachia and the Arab world is the recipient of a prestigious Fulbright scholarship. 

Clara Haizlett of Bethany is one of approximately 2,200 college students and recent graduates selected to participate in the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the U.S. government’s flagship international exchange program.

Five Eberly College students gain international perspective as Gilman Scholars

Five Eberly College students will expand their horizons through study abroad experiences this spring, summer and fall after being awarded scholarships through the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program.

Twenty undergraduate students from across the University to receive the competitive national award funded by the U.S. State Department to travel abroad without financial constraints. Twelve of those 20 students are studying in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences.

Four West Virginia University women - all students or alumna of the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences - have been awarded the Critical Language Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State, recognizing their commitment to language learning and personal growth. The awardees will participate in fully-funded virtual intensive language and cultural immersion programs this summer.
