The English Language Learning Institute (ELLI) in Eberly’s Department of World Languages, Literatures and Linguistics will host approximately 40 Fulbright Scholarship grantees on WVU’s campus for six weeks during Summer 2023. The program will prepare the Fulbright grantees for the linguistic and cultural realities of graduate study in the United States. It will offer academic coursework coupled with workshops, a mentoring program and co-curricular activities created to highlight West Virginia culture, history, and nature.

Four West Virginia University women - all students or alumna of the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences - have been awarded the Critical Language Scholarship from the U.S. Department of State, recognizing their commitment to language learning and personal growth. The awardees will participate in fully-funded virtual intensive language and cultural immersion programs this summer.

The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences has recognized 64 outstanding seniors, graduate teaching assistants and graduating Eberly Scholars for their academic achievements in 2020-2021.

Students from the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences will celebrate Commencement on Saturday, May 15 as they graduate from West Virginia University, ready to take on the world.
