WV KIDS COUNT, in partnership with WVU Medicine Children’s and the WVU Rockefeller School of Public Policy and Politics, released the second in a series of six issue briefs on the well-being of children and families in West Virginia. This issue brief, “Accounting for Enrollment Success and Considering the Challenges Ahead for Children’s Health Insurance,” credits West Virginia for its Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) outreach and enrollment efforts.

To meet the changing needs of professionals working with evolving policy and regulatory issues in the justice system, homeland security and healthcare, the West Virginia University Department of Public Administration has launched a new 30 credit hour Master of Legal Studies (MLS) curriculum for fall 2018.

The  School of Social Work at  West Virginia University shot up into the top third in the latest rankings of graduate programs by  U.S. News & World Report.

Eleven students from the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University have been selected to intern at the West Virginia State Legislature this semester. 

West Virginia University graduate students in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences' Department of Public Administration and WVU Extension Service are partnering with Arts Mon, which serves as the Morgantown area arts council, to encourage the development of an arts collaborative in Monongalia and Preston counties.

As a graduate student in the law and Master of Public Administration programs at West Virginia University, Bill Hinerman joined the Navy JAG Corps in 1989, which led to a lifelong career in government and the military. Hinerman shared with us how his WVU education was the foundation of his career. 

As children’s access to quality and accessible health care is in uncertain times, West Virginia University’s John D. Rockefeller IV School of Politics and Policy  is partnering with the WVU Health Sciences Center and WVU Libraries to host a Children’s Health Policy Summit: Understanding the People, Place and Policy Behind Health Care. 

Following West Virginia University's involvement in transition planning for incoming Gov. Jim Justice, a multi-disciplinary group at the university has continued to look at ways government can be made more efficient, and not incidentally, less expensive. 

When our students aren’t in the classroom, they’re learning in the real world. Because sometimes it’s these experiences that make the best lessons. For Master of Public Administration student Ashley Morgan, that meant interning in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs in Fall 2016. There, it was her duty to assist the office staff as they worked with senators and representatives. Morgan received support for her internship from the Eberly College of Arts & Sciences A.
