Nine first-year students arrived at West Virginia University last week to get a head start on their college experiences.

Through West Virginia University’s Office of Undergraduate Research, students can participate in research as early as their first semester on campus. Every semester, many Eberly College students take advantage of the resources provided by this office to match with faculty conducting research in their disciplines. The Summer Undergraduate Research Experience is an eight-week summer undergraduate research experience for students interested in careers in research or graduate school
within their disciplines. The selected students receive a stipend and conduct research full-time during those eight weeks. Congratulations to the 30 Eberly College students participating in SURE for 2019!

WVU student improving baseball team's analytics

West Virginia University , in partnership with the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center, announced Tuesday the creation of one of the state’s most powerful computer clusters to help power research and innovation statewide. The announcement came as the University kicked off its inaugural  Research Week celebration.

Doug Squire, a teaching instructor in the WVU Department of Mathematics since 2006, was selected for the Leadership West Virginia Class of 2019.

The West Virginia University Department of Mathematics is set to host Morgantown Algebra Days April 13-14.

As an undergraduate student, Krista Bresock never imagined that she would pursue a degree in mathematics. However, after an eye-opening conversation with a teaching assistant during an office hour visit, Bresock decided to take additional math courses and quickly developed a passion for the subject.

Eight students from West Virginia University’s Eberly College of Arts and Sciences have been awarded undergraduate fellowships from the NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Students from the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences will walk across the stage on Saturday, Dec. 15 as they graduate from West Virginia University, ready to take on the world.

West Virginia University continues to be part of a multimillion dollar effort across a 10-university alliance to support STEM education for underrepresented students in Appalachia.
