Two WVU Eberly College students named Robert F. Munn Library Scholars
West Virginia University Libraries has selected two Eberly College undergraduate students as 2026 Robert F. Munn Library Scholars Award recipients: Noah Haak, a senior majoring in political science; and Camryn Morgan, a senior double-majoring in English and philosophy.
Phi Beta Kappa inducts new 2026 members
Thirty-eight graduates were inducted as lifelong members into the WVU Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, a national honor society that recognizes outstanding achievement in the liberal arts and sciences, and champions freedom of thought.

Top WVU seniors named, 8 honored with 2026 Order of Augusta
The 2026 Order of Augusta scholars from Eberly College of Arts and Sciences are: Ronalie Abeyratne, graduating with a degree in biology pre-medical and a minor in molecular medicine; Emma Fleming, graduating with dual degrees in English and multidisciplinary media studies; Ella Holley, graduating with dual degrees in international studies and criminology; and Gabriele Smith, graduating with dual degrees in philosophy and multidisciplinary studies.
Eberly professors to participate in AI panel discussing humanity, hosted by Art in the Libraries and the WVU Humanities Center
Moderated by the Director of the Humanities Center and Professor of Philosophy, Dr. Sharon Ryan, the panel will discuss “Artificial Intelligence: Shaping Futures, Impacting Lives”. Panelists from Eberly College of Arts and Sciences are Jennifer Sano-Franchini from the Department of English and Megan Vendemia from the Department of Communication Studies.
Eberly College students receive Gilman Scholarships for study abroad programs
Ten students from the Ebelry College of Arts and Sciences have earned Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships to travel abroad this summer without financial constraints. These undergraduate students received the competitive national award funded by the U.S. State Department to participate in transformative study abroad experiences.

Every year, students from across Eberly College are selected as Outstanding Seniors and Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistants. Eight remarkable members of the West Virginia University Class of 2025 who have distinguished themselves through academic excellence and by making significant contributions on campus, across the Mountain State and beyond have been honored with the Order of Augusta, the most prestigious University student award.
3 Eberly students honored for community building efforts on campus and beyond
Recognized as champions for justice, civil rights and world peace, four West Virginia University undergraduate students are the recipients of the prestigious 2025 Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship. Selected by the Center for Black Culture based on an essay and letters of recommendation, Tysa James, Janelle LaBarbera, Cheyenne Torres and Gabrielle Williams were honored at the annual MLK Unity Breakfast on Jan. 18 in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.
