Gwen Bergner, an associate professor of English in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, has been named West Virginia University’s Harriet E. Lyon Professor in Women’s and Gender Studies.

Bergner will serve a 2-3 -year appointment as Lyon Professor, during which she will teach and conduct research as part of the Center for Women's and Gender Studies.

The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences invites the WVU community to its second annual Eberly Roundtable on “Labor in Appalachia” Sept. 29-30 at the Mountainlair or via Zoom.

The West Virginia University Native American Studies Program will hold its annual Peace Tree Ceremony Wednesday, September 21 at 12 p.m. at the WVU Peace Tree located between Martin and Elizabeth Moore Halls. 
The ceremony is free and the public is invited to attend. In the event of rain, the ceremony will move indoors to the Gluck Theater in the Mountainlair.
