Eberly student one of two WVU students awarded Critical Language Scholarship

Two West Virginia University students passionate about learning a new language and immersing themselves in cultural experiences will travel abroad this summer as recipients of the highly competitive U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship. 

The English Language Learning Institute (ELLI) in Eberly’s Department of World Languages, Literatures and Linguistics will host approximately 40 Fulbright Scholarship grantees on WVU’s campus for six weeks during Summer 2023. The program will prepare the Fulbright grantees for the linguistic and cultural realities of graduate study in the United States. It will offer academic coursework coupled with workshops, a mentoring program and co-curricular activities created to highlight West Virginia culture, history, and nature.
