Emily Moore is associate professor of art history at Colorado State University, where she teaches courses in Native American and American art history. She is also associate curator of North American Art at the Gregory Allicar Museum at CSU. Raised in Ketchikan, Alaska, Moore researches historical and contemporary arts from the Northwest Coast, as well as the inclusion (and exclusion) of Native arts in American and world art histories. Her research has been supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipend Award, the Terra Foundation Research Travel Grant, the Wyeth Foundation for American Art Publication Fund of the College Art Association and Sealaska Heritage, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian culture. When not at CSU, Emily loves to hike and bike whenever possible, often with her two children, her husband and her husky from Alaska.
