The WVU Planetarium is hosting a film screening of "Nostalgia for the Light" on Wednesday, February 26 at 7 p.m. The film depicts the parallel lives of the astronomers who study the night sky to learn about the universe while gazing into the past and the women who are searching the Atacama desert near the telescopes for the remains of their loved ones who were disappeared by the Pinochet regime. The film screening will be followed by a Q&A with Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy D.J. Pisano and Associate Professor of History Michele Stephens. If the weather permits, the rooftop telescope will be open for stargazing. Due to limited seating, RSVPs are required and can be made online. The event is cosponsored by the Department of History and Department of Physics and Astronomy.
