Poetry reading by Amy Alvarez
The Alpha Xi chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, WVU's English honor society, will hold an event in celebration of African American History Month on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.
Teaching Assistant Professor of English Amy Alvarez will read a selection of her poetry via Zoom. Some of Alvarez's recent poetry publications include work in Crazyhorse, The Missouri Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, PRISM international, Rattle, and Sugar House Review. She was recently awarded a racial justice grant by the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences and is working with a team at WVU Press on "Essential: Voices of the Vulnerable," an anthology exploring how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected vulnerable groups.
