The West Virginia University School of Social Work is offering the Spring 2016 season of professional and community education programs for social workers, counselors, and nurses who wish to earn continuing education credit.
Workshops will cover a variety of topics aimed to help human service providers stay up-to-date with new developments in their field as well as coping techniques.
Charleston/Beckley workshops:
April 12 - “So Bad, the President Came: Addiction Basics and Trends,” 1-4 p.m., WVU-Charleston, Room 4020, Charleston. Registration Fee: $35 (early bird rate of $31.50 by March 18).
May 13 - “Play Therapy + Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy = Dynamic Duo of Brain & Behavior Change,” 9 a.m.-4p.m., Beckley-Raleigh Convention Center, Carter Room, Beckley. Registration Fee: $65 (early bird rate of $58.50 by April 15).
Martinsburg/Moorefield workshops:
April 15 - “Mindfulness and Meaning: Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,” 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lackey Hall, Martinsburg. Registration Fee: $75 (early bird rate of $67.50 by March 18).
April 26 - “Mindfulness and Self Compassion: Antidotes to Compassion Fatigue,” 9 a.m.-4 p.m., South Branch Inn, Moorefield. Registration Fee: $65 (early bird rate of $58.50 by April 1).
May 18 - “’What Should I Do?’ Ethics of Boundary Extensions and Confidentiality,” 9 a.m.-4 p.m., St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lackey Hall, Martinsburg. Registration Fee: $65 (early bird rate of $58.50 by April 22).
