Linguistics

The Master of Arts in linguistics is designed to provide you a well-rounded perspective in the field. You will have the opportunity to engage in research projects that complement your learning in the classroom. Year-long exchange programs for graduate students are available for France and Spain. The Department of World Languages, Literatures and Linguistics also sponsors study abroad programs during the summer in Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, Spain and Taiwan that graduate students may participate in if they meet the program’s requirements.

How will I focus my studies?

The program is intended for students seeking preparation for doctoral studies in linguistics or a related field as well as for those pursuing careers in language-related fields.
