Web Services

The Office of Communications and Marketing works directly with WVU University Relations-Digital Services to maintain, develop and improve the College’s main website. The Office is also responsible for the management of several related subsites, including all academic department sites.

In addition, we provide web design and development services for Eberly College-affiliated initiatives, building website templates within CleanSlate. You should consult the Office of Communications and Marketing with any website needs that you are not able to handle through WordPress content management system, or if you would like web content advice.

The Office helps departments and programs coordinate electronic alumni newsletters, and works with the WVU Foundation to assist in scheduling and distributing the newsletters.

Slate CMS Shutdown

As of June 2017, WVU has ended support and operations for its Slate CMS. This means any site, documents, or media hosted on a Slate website is now inaccessible as of June 1, 2017.

Coinciding with the Slate shutdown, the  Eberly College will no longer host faculty sites, class-specific sites, and sites with ‘as.’ and 'eberly.' url prefixes . These types of sites will not be transferred to CleanSlate by the college. Again, all content, documents, and media hosted on these sites will be lost. Faculty are welcome to create and maintain their own sites (see options below) and we can link to it from your faculty page or where appropriate so people can find it. Just send the url to your department’s web content manager once the site is ready for the public.

Requesting a Faculty Site

University Relations will support faculty sites on clean slate. Please fill out the form to begin the process of getting your new site. While UR will assist in creation of these sites, the responsibility of creating and maintaining content is the faculty members. You can read more about the process on the Getting Started page from UR. The Eberly Prof Tech will assist with technical difficulties, not with content. For more assistance, see Web Help Open Labs below.

That information can be found on the CleanSlate CMS site under tutorials.
