Program Mission Statement

A concise statement of the principles and values which guide the programs curriculum. It sets a tone and a philosophical position from which follow a program’s learning outcomes and goals. It should also complement the university and college missions and strategic goals. The program mission statement should define:

  1. Primary Purpose: primary reason for performing the major activities or operations of the program.
  2. Primary functions: important activities, operations, outcomes, and/or offerings of the program.
  3. Stakeholders: participants in the program and those that benefit from the program.
