Francis M. Curran, Ph.D.

Advising Specialist

A native of northeastern Pennsylvania, Dr. Curran earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Pittsburgh and a Ph.D. in history from West Virginia University. Prior to joining the Eberly College’s Office of Academic Affairs, he served as a lecturer in the university’s history department, a Preservation Alliance of West Virginia AmeriCorps service member, and a library technical assistant in the West Virginia and Regional History Center. In his current role, Dr. Curran works with undergraduates on academic probation and incoming transfer students. His other duties include teaching sections of ARSC 189 and ARSC 201, serving on various university-wide advising committees, participating in recruitment events, assisting with student retention initiatives, and providing administrative support to Eberly advisers during New Student Orientation (NSO). In his leisure time, Dr. Curran enjoys cooking, completing home improvement projects, and closely following his favorite collegiate and professional sports teams.
