Dean’s Welcome
Welcome to the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, WVU’s college dedicated to the study of the liberal arts and sciences. If your interests lie in literature and the humanities, mathematics and natural sciences, or the social and behavioral sciences, we can assist you.
Whether you are a prospective or current student, alumni, parent, faculty or staff member, or friend of the institution – even if you are just passing by our site – you will be engaged by academic inquiry; inspired by talented, award-winning faculty; and challenged by innovative, cutting-edge research.
Our dedicated faculty and staff, accomplished students, diverse academic offerings, and modern facilities combine to provide educational opportunities unmatched in the state and region – opportunities on a par with those of the finest research universities in the nation.
Eberly graduates go on to masters and doctoral programs, including medical and law schools. They have jobs in industry, non-profit organizations, academia, medicine, law, and the federal, state, and local governments. The Eberly College prepares students for their careers, but more importantly, it prepares them for lives of civic engagement, leadership, critical thinking, good communication, and continued learning.
Our faculty and students are doing research that will improve the health and well-being of the citizens of West Virginia and the world. Their work in areas such as astrophysics, biochemistry, energy and environment, and nanotechnology is recognized nationally and internationally.
I encourage you to explore the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences website frequently to see how our mission of teaching, research, and service may best serve you. You will find new and inspiring stories and discoveries each time you visit.
