Helen Hartnett, Ph.D.

Leadership Fellow

Dr. Hartnett came to WVU from the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare in 2007. She has a record of teaching, research, and service in the areas of homelessness, advocacy/policy practice, community organizing, critical evaluation of practice, and the ways in which social work practice is influenced by socio-spatial processes – the geography of services provided to people in any environment. Her social work practice experience includes a variety of positions in political advocacy, program planning, administration, and research in the area of homelessness.
