MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (Nov. 15, 2013)- Visiting Scholar Penelope Boston will be presenting “The Planet Within: Caves from Earth to Mars and Beyond” on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 4-5 PM in room G15 of the Life Sciences Building on the downtown campus of West Virginia University.

This event is hosted by the Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar Program and the Geology Colloquium. It is co-sponsored by the John C. & Mildred W. Ludlum Geology Fund.

Boston’s research focuses on geomicrobiology and astrobiology in extreme environments. Author of over 150 technical and popular publications and editor of four volumes, she is writing a popular book and an academic work on the astrobiology of the subsurface environment.
