Shepherdstown Civil War Podcast Tour

Posted on May 23rd, 2009 by Dustin feature_shepherdstown_civil_war
Welcome to Shepherdstown’s Civil War Walking Tour. The following is a 53 minute podcast walking tour of the Shepherdstown Battlefield, made in conjunction with the Shepherdstown Battlefield Preservation Association and members of the History Department at West Virginia University. The podcast may be played on any ipod, compatible cell phone, or mp3 device.

Note to Shepherdstown Battlefield visitors: Please be advised that several parts of the Shepherdstown Battlefield tour trail are steep and physically demanding. All hikers travel at their own risk. Additionally, as the tour route is located on private property, please remain on the trail and between the pink markers at all times.

Upon reaching Shepherdstown, you may use either River Road or Trough Road to access the battlefield. Please use caution when navigating these roads, as both are fairly narrow and may be populated with other visitors. As you approach the battlefield via either River Road or Trough Road, please start the podcast for directions on where to park and the location of the first tour stop.
Before proceeding on your tour, be sure that you have downloaded and printed your map of the tour route. During this tour, please be sure to follow all safety precautions.

Please download the following materials to take the tour:
